Escape Into The Park
I played the Gurn Bus stage at Escape this weekend and we all had a lot
of fun playing some classic tracks. Links with pictures and sounds up
on Gurn.net soon.

Nobody cares?
Not much to say at the moment what with the new site over at gurn to
get to grips with. A lot of it kind of replaces my need for this blog
in fact. I'm considering it's future.
In the meantime remember that Nobody cares that you're a DJ.

more hard music blogging
99th Floor Elevators (most famous for hard house clas(sic) 'Hooked') have a blog. Apart from that I have no idea what's going on. Godamn chalets don't have broadband.

Show 1 all done
After a lot of putting off due to Gurn.net going offline to get a major
overhaul, the show is finished and uploaded to the media server ready
to be put on the site.
So, with that I'm departing for a short holiday at an undisclosed
location (I don't want the press to hound me). I'm hoping all will be
sorted by the time I get back.

Gurn.net is offline
If you are one of the lost souls wandering round the internet because the Gurn.net forums
are currently down, then never fear. It will be back up shortly with a
shiny new design. If you have never heard of Gurn then where have you
been? The MOON?? It's the best clubbing website on the intarweb!
So as tribute here is a charming picture of the old site. Never to be seen again.

Nightclubbing at Home
Money, health and time mean that going out every weekend
isn't a realistic proposition for a lot of people (including me). Lucky
for us frustrated clubbers, Jess Harvell
is keeping the dance music flame alive by kindly providing links to
some mixes that can be enjoyed as much on the iPod and stereo as they
can in the darkest corners of discos across the world.

Dave Clarke - World Service
Probably the biggest album that got me excited about electro was Dave Clarke's live mix CD World Service.
I admit I was attracted to the techno disk and didnt really consider
the electro side when I was buying it. On first listen I thought it
sounded like an out-of-date obessessive throwing back to the 80s with
the wierd music, but it's the electro that has got more listens and
still gets the odd play to this day.
Somehow Dave picked up on the whole electroclash thing before it
happened, and as the sound burst onto the club scene, most notably
through Fischerspooners £1m signing to Ministry of Sound, the music
that I first heard a year or two ago started geting played on Radio 1s
dance shows.
The fact that a DJ could have such foresight amazed me and as the
electro sound has grown the CDs sound has remained current - 4 years
after it's release. It's timelessness is still being proven, but so far
it's proven itself as a landmark in the mix CD history. This is the main reason Dave Clarke remains one
of my favourite DJs. That and the fact he doesn't seem to give a shit
about pandering to the media or building an image.
Now there is a sequel cunningly named World Service 2 on Resist. It's going to be just as good and if it's half as influential then it will be a job well done.
